Well-known trial lawyer Mark McNabola attended a reception for DePaul’s President, A. Gabriel Esteban, PhD, and Esteban’s wife Josephine.
The event on Thursday night was held at The Chicago Club, 81 E. Van Buren St.
The event was hosted by James T. Ryan, Chair of DePaul’s Board of Trustees, and Jack M. Greenberg, Chair of the Trustee Presidential Transition Committee.
Esteban, the first lay leader (anyone who is not a bishop, priest, or deacon in the Catholic Church) in the university’s history, is the 12th president at DePaul. He assumed the presidency of the nation’s largest Catholic university on July 1, 2017.
Esteban most recently served as the president of Seton Hall University, a Catholic institution in South Orange, New Jersey. He assumed the presidency in January 2011, after serving as interim president for six months. He was Seton Hall’s first lay president in more than 25 years.
